Calculation basis

England's maintained-school year is based on 190 pupil days (380 registration sessions).
The optional helper uses Wirral Council's published 2026–27 term windows and removes the 3 May 2027 bank holiday.
Wirral schools set five INSET days locally, so these must be adjusted in the helper. Always check the result against the live school attendance system.
